ANDRES SAMESHIMA
• Sound Designer •
Hey, I’m Andres, a sound designer focused on game audio.
I studied Music Production and Performance at the University of East London, where I built a strong foundation in synthesis, recording, and audio engineering. During that time, I realised my strengths leaned less toward song writing and more toward shaping sound itself. Music remains central to how I think, especially in tone, texture, and emotional pacing, and continues to inform my approach to sound design.
As a lifelong gamer, titles like The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Subnautica, and Battlefield shaped how I understand audio from a player’s perspective. I focus on how sound supports gameplay clarity, reinforces mechanics, and guides attention while maintaining emotional weight. My work combines musical sensitivity with technical problem-solving and a systems-driven mindset.
I am currently expanding into implementation, developing skills in middleware such as Wwise and FMOD, and working alongside developers within engines including Unity and Unreal Engine, while continuing to learn from experienced audio professionals. My long-term goal is to contribute to a team whose work inspired me to pursue sound design in the first place, helping shape meaningful, player-focused experiences at the highest level.
