Andres Sameshima

Sound Designer

Hi, I’m Andres, a sound designer focused on game audio.

I grew up in a musical household, but I was always more interested in how sounds were made rather than how music itself was structured. Because of that environment, I initially thought music was the path I wanted, which led me to study Music Production and Performance at the University of East London. During my time there, I developed a strong technical foundation in synthesis, recording, and audio engineering.

Over time, I realised I was more drawn to shaping sound itself than writing songs. I became interested in the physical and emotional impact of sound and how it could exist outside of traditional music. After graduating, I decided to focus on sound design and explore new directions.

After university, I continued working in audio while supporting myself through physically demanding jobs. That period gave me perspective and pushed me to become more intentional about my direction. I realised I was most motivated by building things, solving problems, and working in collaborative environments.

This led me to game audio. I became interested in how sound supports gameplay, clarity, and player awareness, and I started developing my skills through redesign work, analysis, and collaboration with indie developers. I enjoy breaking down how systems work, understanding player perception, and finding the balance between realism and readability.

Today, I’m focused on growing as a sound designer and expanding into implementation and interactive workflows, with the goal of contributing to strong, player-focused experiences within real production environments.
